Stanton Moor and the Andle Stone

I'm already yearning for the warm day that I took this photo. I snuck into the walled garden at Quarry Bank Mill (apologies National Trust- lovely garden) so that I could take a picture of this print in front of these gorgeous flowers.
This print was made after a walk with friends through the megalith lined Stanton Moor, home of the Nine Ladies Stone Circle. Although the stone circle itself was interesting to look at, anything I might have felt was somewhat dampened by the amount of children and people sitting on the stones.
The surroundings of the Andle Stone are different. The sandstone has been wind-wipped into natural boulders and it's gorgeous. The Andle Stone, however, stand alone peaking across the Moor. The foot holes have supposedly been carved in over time by climbers throughout the ages
This print is a slight re-imagining of the Andle Stone and I loved doing it.
