  • decay

    under my feet- decay,

    rooted and clever,

    does not sleep, it

    pulses in life entangled.

    a mesh that coaxes

    nutrients gingerly in

    it poaches into a new,

    earthly encasement.

  • ink cap

    buried in deadwood

    we creep up

    black damsels

    we fall blotted

    livery drips

    aching

back to a hard wood that’s

    aging away

    we rise again, never

    untethered to the homewood

    brethren like

    making unbare, ink

    rises to re-write

    what was barren.

  • amanita pantherina

    false blusher, insidiously,

you meet eyes with a sultry wink

    as through ages you slink

    up from the spongy floor.

    peering down, spore-flanked

    you’ve tempted and realised.

its rank, cut it and it bleeds

    white.

    trickster.
